question about E-control

E-control  announce says is going to be available for H8000 series, H7600,
and Eclipse.
I think that means I shouldn't need to upgrade my H8000A to the
H8000Afw because E-control does not use firewire to communicate with the box
right? how does the box connect to the DAW using E-control? thanks

Pat

PS: now browsing Eventide's web site it's a pleasure...congrats

 Hi pat

E-control will use MIDI to communicate with the H8000, so Firewire is not required.

 I see, thanks..

Will it work on PTLE 7.4 on an Intel Macpro?

Yes, it will work on
ProTools LE 7.4 Mac.

E-Control is an RTAS
plug-in, so it will work on TDM, LE, and M-Powered ProTools
systems.

All ProTools 7.x versions will be supported.

Both PPC and Intel on
OSX 10.3 and higher will be supported.

Hi Italo,

Any plans to do anything other than RTAS?

Thanks,

Cass

 Hi Cass

nothing planned at the moment.

Awesome, that'll be great.

BTW,

when is it being released?

It is currently in development and is scheduled for delivery at the end
of April.  If you purchase an H8000FW, H7600 or Eclipse between
September 1, 2007 and  the end of April, you are eligible to get it for
free.  It is an RTAS plug-in and will sell for $199.

This will be available as a download then?

I would think so. But let's wait for the final announcement.

Any updates?

 from the plugins forum:

"Hi Tony,

Regrettably, the release of E-Control has been pushed back to June
30th.  At that time it will be released and available for a public beta.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
